Kieran's performance

Hubby MMS me Kieran's performance at his mini Yamaha concert when I was in Hong Kong.

I was so pleased and happy that he played well.

When I picked him from the school bus this evening, he said to me

Kieran: Mommy, you forgot to get me my Mini Cooper from Hong Kong.
Me: None was nice, but I got you many stuff.
Kieran: Yes, I like my Cars bag best. You gave me a surprise ... my new Thomas the Engine pencil case! I put it inside my bag and I saw it this morning. (When I returned home last night, he was already asleep, so I changed his pencil case instantly to give him a little surprise)

Beautiful buys

On my last day in Hong Kong (29 March), I zoomed off to Faces at Habour City to buy some stuff from Benefit after checking in my luggage at Central. I heard quite a fair bit about their beauty stuff and I just gotta have it.

I bought 5 items (realness of concealness, de-puffing action eye gel, eye bright, brow zings and 10) and am very happy with my purchase :)

Home away

Leaving for HK tomorrow morning for meetings and will be back on Thurdays night.

Hubby will be busy when I'm not around:

1. Kieran's term end concert @ Yamaha (he will play a piece solo and sing in a group) tomorrow at 1pm
2. Kieran has Chinese and English spelling on Tuesday and Wednesday
3. Endless demands, whimps and fancies from the boys
4. ...

Tomorrow morning, hubby has remedial training at the army, luckily Connie, Joo & Jamus are able to help out. Wonder what we will do when they leave for Perth for another couple of years. They have been great and supportive to us.

To kill some time on the plane when the inflight entertainment is boring, I ought to have a book and got "Life Swap" or "Swapping Lives" by Jane Green at San yesterday after I finished S Kinsella's Can You Keep a Secret.

Nails!

I placed order with a US merchant for some OPI and Essie nail varnishes, Nail Tek treatment, Essie spa pedicure and a bottle of Aloe Vera hand & body lotion a week ago and they arrived today.

I was so happy and excitedly I applied OPI Passion on my fingernails and OPI Lincoln Park at Midnight on my toenails. They were gorgeous! Look so much more groomed now.

I'll be wearing my comfy Birkenstock sandals onboard the plane tomorrow morning (tsk tsk, at the same time, show off my new toenail colour, heehee).

Connie, Joo & Jamus came to our place this evening with yummy pizzas. I proudly showed Connie my new purchase; she liked Lincoln Park at Midnight and I played pedicurist to her.

My jewel

When I got out from my bath, Kieran rushed to me, happily clutching something and said he made me a necklace from the childcare centre.

It was beautiful... 42 colourful beads stringed on a pink thread. I told him I will wear it tomorrow. Hmm, gotta rake my brain on my ensemble.

Raeyen's 1st

Ooh, I was so happy when Raeyen blurted "Mommy" out of the blue. I asked Kieran if he heard that and he went, "Yes, he called Mommy like he called me Kieran yesterday!" I was shrieking merrily and my dearie babe gave me the sweetest grin. Ooh...

Raeyen is funny, he can say difficult words like "Daddy", "I know" but not "Mommy", he also hardly called me, not even "Mama".

The moment hubby returned from work, I told him about it. Wow, ok let me record here that at 1 year 8 months 1 week and 5 days old, Raeyen first called me "Mommy".

Sophie's the choice

I'm done with Maggie's Mad about the Boy (it was an interesting book, by the way, the lead - Antonia - inspired me to hit the gym), returned and rented Sophie's Can You Keep a Secret this afternoon as I finally found one that has changed enough hands to warrant a cheaper rental rate.

I'm still at a discovery stage for more authors whom I can feast my eyes and soul on and I read somewhere that books from Emily Giffin, Dorothy Koomson and Plum Sykes may just be my cup of tea too. I'll certainly give them a try.

Today's workout was great... Body Combat, had a fun time kicking (ass... imagining myself kicking someone I dislike) and punching.

Back home in the evening, I was watching The Arena briefly before tucking Kieran to bed. He watched with me while drinking milk. Then he asked

Kieran: Mommy, are they quarrelling?
Me: (Laugh) No dear, they are debating.
Kieran: What's debating?
Me: They are arguing over a topic given by the program
Kieran: Are there judges?
Me: Yes, there are four.
Kieran: Why?
Me: So that they can judge which team is the better one to win.

Workout mama

My friend Wendy got me a free 1-week pass at Planet Fitness before I decide if I should sign up for its membership.

Today was my first day and I went at lunchtime for a 15-minute on threadmill and then an hour of pilates class. I had no idea what pilates was all about until I tasted it... whole lot of stretch-related exercises. I was trying my best to hold up my legs as straight and long as I could, boy it was difficult! I had a hard time trying th bring up my butt on a lying position with my arms resting on the mat and legs straight-up. That flabby tum is just too much caught in the way and my near non-existence stomach muscle didn't help.

Tomorrow some girls in my office are going at lunchtime for Body Combat, I am not going to miss this one. Wonder if I have to kick high for that? I can already imagine the sore and aches all over my body.

I reckon if I don't do some exercises, I will not be able to age as gracefully as I would love to.

I'll just hang on... BUT to sign up after the pass has expired, is well, quite an expensive thing to do. Ironical, isn't it?

Flashback: Kieran at 15 months

Having just set up a new home PC (yes, with the WOW new Microsoft Vista & Office 07), I was going through some old files since Kieran was born... photos and videoclips. Those sweet memories of being a new mommy.

Saw the one we took at my boss' place in December 2003 and was surprised how well Kieran took instruction for a little "running back & forth" game.

Mixed bag of things

Just 2 of the many gorgeous dresses I like from Anthropologie...

The one on the right is from Anna Sui for Anthropologie.

Hmm... I adore Springtime!

Today has been a frustrating day on personal level... maid issues... I felt better now after doing some online shopping for nail varnishes at 8ty8beauty. Hope they will arrive soon!

Janice, by the way, Kieran likes the Blue's Clues flash cards. He would like to say "THANK YOU" to Auntie Janice!

To end this mixed-mood Monday, I finally filed my Income Tax online, duhh.

It's a mad day

Yes, I'm mad about my boys, 3 to be exact... Kieran, Raeyen & hubby.

Today was a mad day, had a 8.30am meeting then worked... picked up "Mad About the Boy" by Maggie Alderson from San after I have finished JP's Sister's Keeper... meeting again, left office at 7pm, grabbed some snacks (as dinner) rushed to the Singapore Indoor Stadium to catch "Disney On Ice - Finding Nemo" with Kieran.

SBS bus service 16 was sandwich-packed that none could board, luckily an empty taxi came, I hopped and met hubby & Kieran outside the stadium.

This was Kieran's first to catch Disney On Ice. The organizers were out for a killing with exorbitant souvenir and foodstuff. I am talking about $6 pop corns, $12 candy floss with a Nemo or Bruce cap, $18 retractable character sword, etc and... take this, a whooping $20 Bruce cup that comes with a ball of ice and a dash of syrup!

Kieran just looked and fiddled with the souvenir and asked if he could have popcorns. I was pleased that he didn't ask for any souvenir and got him the popcorns. I didn't mind being ripped off by $6 BUT the snack is not crunchy! Most were soft and got stuck between teeth...

Anyway, the performance was good but below my expectation. As long as Kieran enjoyed it, what I feel doesn't matter really. He was dancing along and when I asked which part he liked most, he said "everything".

It finished at 10pm, hubby fetched us home and Kieran was fast snoozing in the car.

Jumping of joy

After weeks of trying jump, Raeyen finally took his first successful jump today (2 days shy of 20 months)!

While watching the results of The Dance Floor, the boys were prancing around, trying to emulate what's on the TV. Kieran did a little stunt and insisted that I took his photo of that act (because I took a photo of Raeyen's maiden jump).

For the record, I like Platinum for their creativity and girrrl power!

See video of my little dancers.

Shaky day

Yesterday just before noon, I felt a little tremor while working on my computer at work (Suntec City). I also heard crumbling sound outside my window. I felt giddy after that. I asked my colleagues if they felt the same and they (one from China and the other from India) said nonchalantly that it was an earthquake. I was stunned but worked as usual since they seemed OK with it.

I message my sis about it and she updated that it was earthquake in Sumatra, Indonesia at Richter scale 6.6.

After lunch, on my way back to the office, my colleagues said we have to be evacuated as there was a second tremor felt!

A baby and an old soul

On this last day of the Lunar New Year,
we celebrated Baby Jayden's 1st month here.

Though we arrived late due to Kieran's class,
our boys and Ethan still had a blast.

Baby Jayden has gorgeous eyes,
craddling him was sweet and nice.

On this 15th day of the Year of the Pig,
we were told my father-in-law is very sick.

We left the Yeo's in early evening,
to see my father-in-law frail and resting.

He was happy to see his grandsons,
who were clueless and beamed like a sun.

Thumb-sucking

Kieran: Mommy, my friend S___ still sucks his thumb.
Mom: Yikes, did you tell him it's not nice?
Kieran: Yes, but he doesn't listen and still sucks!
Both: So awful (and laughed)
