Lanterns

Kieran and Raeyen carried their lanterns at home on 14 September which I videoed. Raeyen was fascinated by the candle and mumbled "Happy Birthday to You".

They played again at the foot of our block over the weekends with some sparklers.

For the first time this year, we didn't buy mooncakes as we couldn't finish eating them every year. Other reasons: They are highly-priced, overly sweet and FATTENING!

Ain't no Tom Boy!

You Are 68% Girly

You're a pretty girly chick, and you're not ashamed to admit it (or wear pink).
But you're also practical. You can hang with the guys, as long as they're not too gross!

Pretty true about me though... yikes, I really can't stand gross men, especially those with BO and bad breath (women too)!

Gonna pack my pink clothes, pink makeup (MAC, Alima, Marjolica Majorca, MUS - hubby gonna faint ^*^), pink Crocs for the trip. I have to remember also our medications (heaps of them!). I'm quite done with packing the kids' stuff. All in all, we are bringing 2 large luggage, a cabin luggage, a haversack as hand luggage and a kiddy haversack for toys and books. The flight departs at 1.20am, hopefully the boys will sleep onboard.

Counting down by the hours now, yipee!!!

Poor Raeyen

Our poor little boy puked 4 times today and little diarrhoea. We had no choice but sent him to the PD this evening. She was puzzled that his condition took a little longer to recover. I wonder if his condition wasn't rosy because Siti forgot to feed him Motilium yesterday. She even fed Kieran paracetamol wrongly ... anyway, she is quite problematic.

PD inserted a suppository on Raeyen and given a box of Pedialyte and powder for diarrhoea.

Thank God I'm not working tomorrow so that I may mind him myself.

Halo, hello, kiddos

I think Kieran is recovering well and we really were "kiasu" by keeping a close tab on his diet = no dairy and oily stuff. But my greedy boy nibbled a piece of mooncake he made at the childcare centre.

Raeyen, however, had diarrhoea 3 times today, vomitted a little and appetite was still poor. Luckily no more fever, hope that means he is on his road to recovery!

I returned to work today with the following agenda:

1030h meeting, 1145h redeem Halo 3 (limited edition) for nephew in Perth, 1300h review with company doctor, 1630h meeting

It was quite packed considering I had backlog to clear due to yesterday's leave, some stuff to manage before our holiday.

This morning as I walked to the office at Suntec City, took a glimpse of the Halo 3 booth at the atrium. Alas, at 9am.... a line was already formed by some young punks, oops mind my manners. I mean, the redemption of the game pack plus a goodie bag for those who bought the pre-order card would only start at noon! They were so super KIASU!

I went down at 11.45am (yeah, a little before my official lunch) and was told the queue went all the way outside the building (behind G2000) along Nicoll Highway! So what did I do??? I joined the crazy queue coz I promised to help my dear nephew in Perth to get it. Microsoft is very smart to come up with this brilliant idea of selling a pre-order card, creating a fanatic buzz about its latest game = making people crazier = more sales = latent buyers become easily influenced. There were even pretty and eloquent promoters "entertaining" the queuers with the goodness of the new Red Bull and offering (especially the guys) the "healthier" drink. I'm sure gullible boys and men will buy this new drink so as to keep them awake while playing Halo 3 non-stop! Wonder why none of the eyedrop companies send pretty girls to give out freebies so that the players will not end up with bloodshot eyes after hours of non-stop gaming. Anyhow, I was unfazed, busy SMSing and toying with my HTC P3600i while killing time.

I'm glad that my mission was completed when I got hold of the much demanded limited edition gamepack and a goodie bag at about 12.30pm.

Raeyen's unwell too

Sigh... while things are getting rosy for Kieran after seeing the PD on Friday evening, Raeyen "merlioned" twice today! By the way, PD said Kieran contracted gastric/stomach flu. Was prescribed Debridat for stomach wind and Reutefene tablets to improve his gut health and immune system.

Raeyen's appetite was poor and puked all his food and fluid intake, so heartache!

Gotta monitor him tomorrow and if still unwell, gonna zoom to the PD.

I was tempted to order Evan's pretty mooncakes for this Tuesday but their health is freaking me out and I'm not sure they are going to have any appetite despite the very appealing creation that made me go "WOW, I wanna eat it!". Go see for yourself, I like the rainbow soda mooncakes.

We're keeping our fingers crossed as our trip to Perth is only 4 days away!

Kieran's sick

Kieran vomitted and had diarrhoea today, hubby and I rushed to fetch him from childcare centre. It's quite difficult to put down one's work for such emergencies. Worse of all, my boss looked for me when I left the office. I couldn't care so much if he understood but I do appreciate the flexibility I had in this aspect.

Since it's Thursday, the PD's clinic only opens in the morning. We searched frantically for nearby PD clinics (even with friends' help) but in vain. We brought him to the nearest GP and doc said its the usual stomach flu and virus attack.

He just fell asleep while I'm typing this. He threw up twice since we got home right after food and medications. I gave him a tube of Pedialyte before bed since he threw up all fluid and food.

Tomorrow his kindy has a photoshoot and he wanted to go. Hubby and I are still taking things one step at a time. I will probably bring him to work since Siti can't possibly mind both of them in this situation, and I have meeting and work to do tomorrow.

My new toy

Can't wait for iPhone to launch in Singapore and my O2 Xda II mini is kind of "senile" after 2 years, so decided to get a new machine.

Went down to M1 yesterday and with the help from hubby, I bought the latest HTC phone - P3600I. It's kind of cool and most functions are similar to O2, and its processing is faster.

Have since set Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars as the ringtone for calls from hubby. Gonna check out its new features!

But I'm clueless as to how to set up for wireless surfing at MacDonald's, etc :(

Getting mushy

Lately Kieran has been ultra mushy. He would come running to me and go, "Mommy, I love you." next come the kisses. When I tuck him in, he would go through the same process.

As for Raeyen, he clings to me like a koala. When hubby comes into the room to tuck him in, he would hug me tight and not let go. Till now, I still enjoy smelling Raeyen's fingers and toes for he seems like a baby to me (though now at 26 months old). I wonder when will this "smelling" stop. I mean, I can't remember when had I stopped smelling Kieran's toes.

Anyway, these little gestures the boys shower on me speak VOLUME!

I told Kieran today that I would be going to Shanghai for 2 days and he said, "Can you not go?" and when I explained why I had to and he said, "Then can I go with you?"

Earlier in the evening, Kieran said he didn't want to go to the childcare centre. I said he had to as no one could mind him in the afternoon after kindy. He said Siti could but I explained that she could not possibly mind him and Raeyen at the same time. He said he would behave. Sigh... I don't know what's best.

Kieran's Gym Class

I have not updated how did Kieran's gym class went after about 9 lessons or so.

So far, he enjoys the lesson and is coping well though I think all his classmates are older and more seasoned than him. Anyway, here's a photo of him balancing on the bar and a videoclip.

Art attack!

I got some Crayola finger painting tubes in 4 primary colours and had the kids experiment with it in as messy as they could get.

Boy, they really enjoyed getting their fingers and hands on the paints! I helped them make symmetrical artwork by folding the drawing paper into half. Kieran's creation is like a caterpillar and Raeyen's a bug with fillers! We experimented mixing colours such as red + blue = purple, red + yellow = peachy orange and green + yellow = eh... diarrhoea colour.

Anyway, they had fun getting squishy and making hand prints. We should do more of such activities.

Mycoplasma attack!

I have contracted mycoplasma and unfortunately the boys got this dreaded bacteria from me. Now the whole clan, except hubby is on Klacid antibiotic.

I have been coughing for couple of months and it turned bad on 13 August and doc said it was some viral infection. Well, it got worse and I saw another doc at my workplace. A week later or so, I didn't get better, took a chest x-ray and blood test and received both good and bad news. The x-ray shows good lungs = no signs of pneumonia but the blood test shows mycoplasma positive.

The hardest part is I couldn't kiss the boys as usual (for so long already) and because I am their mother, their contraction was somewhat natural - the paediatrician advised.

Due to this idiotic bacteria, doc has grounded me from my impending business trip to Incredible !ndia for fear that the pollution their might aggravate my condition. Doc has to review my condition on Tuesday to determine if I could still go Shanghai the week after.

Kieran's condition is much worse than Raeyen as he has a congested and sensitive nose. Not only he has the same 3 medicines like Raeyen, the PD also prescribed a nasal spray (Nasonex), Aerius and Singulair. However, I am relief to know from both docs that we will be fine by the time we go Perth for holiday later this month.

Rata-ta-ta good show

On Sunday, we brought Kieran for the movie Ratatouille this afternoon at GV Tampines.

The theatrical effects are fantastic, storyline is touching with the byline "Anyone Can Cook", sounds a little like Martin Yan's "If Yan Can Cook, So Can You". I am not chef quality, but yeah, I tried to cook a little if I could for my family and friends.

Anyone, those who have not watched it, don't lose out in the rat race!

Speaking of cooking, I bought a packet of healthy looking and colourful alphabet pasta from Toa Payoh Lorong 7 (next to Kieran's gym school). What's more? It's ORGANIC. So I tried cooking it in ikan bilis soup for the kids. While Kieran finished it, Raeyen didn't (hey, not that my cooking sucks, but he is a challenge during mealtime.
